Is it a bakery? No, it’s a cupcakery!
Not sure if I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m from the wonderful Manchester! Manchester is quite an individual quirky city that has all sorts of shops, a lot are similar to those found in places such as Covent Garden. There are a number of cute, little cafes dotted around the city but this one is one of my favourites. Sweet Tooth is based in the heart of Manchester and is known for selling cupcakes! Yes, this is a cafe dedicated to selling cupcakes, milkshakes, tea, coffee and old-fashioned juices.
Dita Von Teese & Jonny Cash cupcakes
So, whilst shopping around the city, me and my bestie decided to take a break and have a cupcake! The cakes are named after celebrities, and they are the most delicious looking and tasting cakes ever.
I had the Jonny Cash cake which was chocolate flavour with an Oreo base, Oreo flavour ganache topped off with an Oreo. Elicia had the Dita Von Teese cake which was a little less sickly, being raspberry and vanilla flavour, topped off with vanilla cream cheese and a raspberry. At £2.15 each they are definitely worth a taste!
Give it a try!
Now, I’m aware that what you’re about to see looks anything but appetising, but please take my word when I say this is one of the most delicious cakes I have tasted in my life! (And I eat a lot of cakes!)
Let me introduce you to the Princess Cake!
Prinsesstårta (Princess Cake)
This funny looking fancy is sold in Swedish store Ikea. I come across it about two years ago whilst having dinner in the Ikea Cafe and after being drawn to the name of it I just had to try one. I was very weary of it first of all, but much to my surprise it tasted the opposite of what I expected! The centre is filled with sponge, jam and cream, and the cake itself is topped with a mild tasting marzipan.
You can buy the cakes in boxes of four to take home with you and you can also buy them from the in-store cafe.
I took a trip to my local Tesco today to buy some essentials, and whilst taking the usual route round the store I noticed something different out of the corner of my eye. As I was in a rush, I was going to carry on round, but instead I turned back and was faced with the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in Tesco. Facing me was a delicious Krispy Kreme’s stand!
Now, I’m not a massive fan of doughnuts, however I’m a massive sucker for Krispy Kreme’s! Being in such a rush and stuck with so many choices, I thought I’d treat myself to a box of twelve doughnuts!
My box of twelve doughnuts!
As much as I didn’t want to share, I couldn’t manage them all myself so I had to give a few away! jam doughnuts are my least favourite so they were the first to go. But with so many varieties I wanted to eat them all!
Here are a few of my favourite doughnuts.
PS – Be careful – you may find yourself drooling over the page!
