Yesterday was my good friend, Chris’ twenty first birthday! As a surprise me and my housemates decided to bake him a birthday cake after our disastrous attempt last year (I say our, the cake was fine until they got involved!) Last year’s cake was inedible after using a whole bottle of pink icing colour in hope the icing would turn red, and poor Chris pretended to like it.
This year’s cake looked a lot better and tasted a lot better. Here is a recipe of how to make a simple victoria sponge filled with jam, and topped with icing. Enjoy!
